“Placing too much emphasis on employment of new graduates” is cited as one employment practice of companies of Japan. This is the practice that, when companies hire new employees, rather than employing young people who have already graduated or hiring mid-career recruits, there is a preference for a bulk employment of those who have just graduated from high school, technical school or university, the so-called “new graduates”.
Due to such typically Japanese bad employment practices, it can be seen that there are a large number of students who after graduation intended to broaden their horizons by studying abroad or the like, who have given up hope due to apprehension about their employment upon returning to Japan, and also of students who, aiming for the job of their dreams, deliberately fail their course and repeat a year.
However, when it comes to taking on employees at NAKANO, we give this Japanese-style employment practice absolutely no regard whatsoever. Rather than “whether or not a person is a new graduate”, we consider of greater importance “what kind of ability do they have”. For example, we consider that a person who gained experience after graduation through studying abroad or a person who accumulated business experience through a variety of careers may surpass a new graduate with their ability to grasp matters through having an international outlook, or by possessing various specialized abilities which could make an immediate contribution.
At NAKANO we believe that in future, more than at present, when business development opportunities increase in the international market, not just the domestic market, human resources with such a broad outlook and a high level of specialized abilities will be increasingly necessary.
In order to respond to such a change in the business environment, “NAKANO is broad-minded about employment of new graduates”. Rather than whether a person is a new graduate or not, and what kind of background they have, we would like to employ new talent taking into account what “ability” that person holds at present and their promise for the future.
